The Senior Data Engineer will focus specifically on developing solutions leveraging cloud-based data platforms and associated technologies. As a Senior Azure Data Engineer, you will work on various Big Data, Data Warehouse and Data Analytics projects for our world class customers.
The Senior Azure Data Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work with the latest technologies in the Microsoft product stack, architecting and developing advanced and cutting-edge solutions. You will assist in architecting and lead the building of solutions using technologies such as SQL Server 2019, Power BI, Azure Synapse Analytics, and other Microsoft on-premise and cloud technologies.

Your Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ability to plan, develop and productionize end-to-end advanced Data Analytics projects within a team environment.
• Ability to research and develop analytical solutions based specifically on Microsoft Data Platform and Microsoft Azure technologies.
• Good knowledge and understanding of data warehousing in within cloud environments (Azure Synapse)
• Good knowledge of the software development lifecycle and different project delivery methodologies (DevOps, Waterfall, Agile, etc.)
• Excellent presentation skills (customers at all levels of the organization – including CxO level)
• Good project and time management skills
• Ability to work with people at all levels of the organization and good people management skills.
• Ability to assist, train and mentor fellow or junior team members.
What you must have to be considered:
• Minimum of 5+ years solid experience in developing and maintaining Data Analytics solutions
• A solid understanding of Microsoft SQL Server
• A solid understanding of Dimensional Modelling and Data Warehouse design
• Solid Experience with the build of ETL/ELT processes in SSIS, Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks
• A solid understanding of Data Lake Methodologies and Design
• Solid Experience with PowerBI / SSAS Tabular Models
• Solid Experience with DAX query languages
What would be nice for you to have:
• Experience with Python
• Experience gathering requirements and working within various project delivery methodologies.
• Experienced working as a customer facing consultant.
• Strong communication skills tying together technologies and architectures to business results
Required Qualifications:
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate and Customer Data Platform Specialty
• BSc Computer Science / BSc Statistics / BCom Informatics (Advantage)
